Meet Robin
Building her business over the last 5 years, Robin has neglected other things in her life. Its now time for her to venture out, have fun and enjoy new experiences! First up? The dirtygirl mud run! She's even recruited her daughter to train with her. What better way to get back into shape? Something fun and for a good cause!
Jitters?
I’ve been thinking alot about the upcoming race on Saturday. Haven’t been to the gym enough, haven’t let my heels heal. Oh the silly things that go thru your head when you are getting ready to take on a 5k obstacle course!
There are no jitters because I am not going to “race.” I’m going to walk/run with a great group of women for an amazing cause.
Getting ready has consisted of making sure I’ve been getting plenty of sleep. At the moment, this is more important than the actual training and eating. At the same time, I’ve been keeping my eating fairly clean except for a few slips here and there. Workouts have been consistent, but I always feel like I could have done more. Thoughts are now focused on what to eat during the actual day of the race. I’m going to keep it simple. A fiber protein shake and coffee before I leave the house, another protein shake when I am finished. Add a few power bars and water to have with me and I should be good to go.
Other prep work? Having some good hard rock music to play in the car on the way there to get psyched up! Remember I am not a runner….I’m out for fun and that is exactly what I plan to do! Working the old muscles at the same time never hurts right?

I hope to see you tomorrow. What team are you in? Wave? My team: “Tassel Trash”, Wave: 12. If I don’t see you, I hope your cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling so hard, and I hope you have a fantastic time!!
Nice chatting with you

Robin, Enjoyed your blog. I am doing my first Dirty Girl in August ’12. My daughter asked me to do it with her, how could I refuse? We will have plenty of family and friends doing it with us. I will be 57 y/o by the time the race gets here. I am not a runner, either. I hope you had a great time. I am looking forward to it very much!
